Proper handwashing techniques

1. Turn on water and hold hands under water to get wet.
2. Get soap on hands.
3. Scrub/rub hands together for 20 seconds (sing the ABC's twice). Wash all sides of your hands and between your fingers and wrists and under your fingernails.
4. Rinse hands under running water with hands pointing down toward the sink.
5. Use elbow on paper towel dispenser handle to get the amount of paper towel you need (don't touch the handle with your clean hands).
6. Dry hands.
7. Use your paper towel to open the bathroom door.
8. Dispose of paper towel in the waste basket.
9. Remember to wash your hands after you use the bathroom, before you eat, after you cough or sneeze, and any time your hands are dirty.
